Wuxi city in East China's Jiangsu province is set to start using its city's Big Data Center this March, according to its sponsor Inspur, China's leading cloud computing service provider.
Inspur signed up to build a big data industry park, research institute and trading center with various organizations responsible for back-up force cultivation in Wuxi in 2016.
With a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan ($818 million), it will help Wuxi further expand its advantages in the promising internet of things (IoT) industry.
Data from over 50 departments in the city has already been collected, including retail, enterprises, finance, transportation, agriculture and environment. Citizens and enterprises can enjoy online public services based on big data, IoT and cloud computing.
As the country's leading cloud computing and big data service provider, Inspur has business partnerships with 109 provinces and cities in China. Wuxi, already a powerful force in the field of smart city construction, hopes to further expand its advantages all around the country.
