A delegation from the Russian Ministry of Health visited the AstraZeneca Commercial Innovation Center in Wuxi National Hi-tech District on Jan 30.
Huang Qin, mayor of Wuxi, welcomed the delegation and talked with the Russian delegation to deepen cooperation in medical and health fields between the two sides.
Wuxi city in East China's Jiangsu province has made efforts to improve the health of all the citizens and redistribute health care facilities around the city.
A number of leading global science-led biopharmaceutical enterprises have been developing in Wuxi, including AstraZeneca, Nutricia and WuXi AppTec.
In June 2017, AstraZeneca, together with 30 other partners, applied IoT technology to various theranostics projects, focusing on respiration, cardiology, metabolism, oncology and gastroenterology, which are the most urgent needs of Chinese patients. It accelerated the application of IoT in the health industry around the nation.
"We hope to promote cooperation with Russia under the Belt and Road Initiative, and join hands to accelerate the development and adoption of new health solutions," said Huang.
The Russian delegation also visited the affiliated hospital of Jiangnan University and talked with local experts, sharing ideas and practical experience in treating tumors. Both sides looked to more exchanges and cooperation in the future.
