Wuxi city in East China's Jiangsu province will implement the new social credit system from March 5, the government announced on Jan 29. The system, designed to foster an atmosphere of credibility, will support the harmonious development of society.
The city will accelerate the development and refinement of a social credit system that meets the demands of economic growth and people's welfare.
It will span the whole city, effectively rewarding the creditable and punishing the discreditable.
It will ensure credibility in all sorts of social activities by implementing a personal credit score and evaluation system that will provide creditable citizens with extra perks like access to recreational facilities and a reduction in transportation costs.
The personal credit score system, called the "A Fu" score, which will apply big data and political cloud technology, is made up of 493 items, including traffic behavior, personal loans and volunteer activities.
The city will also ensure credibility in areas intimately connected to people's lives, such as education, employment, enterprises, loans, social security and more. The personal credit score system will also be connected to citizen cards.
Wuxi city will strengthen its social credit management system and organize a series of demonstration activities to promote credibility in sanitation, transportation, tourism and other areas.
