A signing ceremony between the Wuxi municipal government and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) was held on Jan 27.
The two sides will cooperate to promote the development of internet of things (IoT) and industrial internet in Wuxi city, including the construction of a national IoT innovation center, the integration and innovation of industrial internet, and 5G and the internet of vehicles.
As a scientific research institute directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, CAICT has worked with Wuxi on the construction of China's first and only national demonstration zone for IoT since 2009.

Huang Qin, mayor of Wuxi, said that the city will accelerate the construction of an independent, open and efficient environment for industrial innovation. He hopes that the cooperation will contribute to the country's new generation of information technology innovation, industrial development and economic transformation and upgrading.
The Innovation Center for 5G and Industrial Internet was opened during the signing ceremony. Wuxi Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, CAICT, Wuxi IoT Innovation Center and Teleinfo also signed agreements to deepen cooperation on industrial internet projects.
