A Wuxi economic and trade delegation visited Israel, known as the Global Silicon Valley, on Nov 21-22 in order to promote exchanges and seek further cooperation.
The delegation, led by Li Xiaomin, Party secretary of Wuxi, first visited Tiberias, a northeastern city in Israel. The two sides signed an agreement to carry out more cooperation on science and technology, talents and industries, continuing their fruitful economic, trade and cultural exchanges that began in 2007.
Li said Wuxi has a profound industrial heritage and Israel is active in scientific and technological innovation. He hopes the new agreement will deepen their friendly relations.
The delegation then visited Israel Innovation Authority on Nov 22, learning from Israel about the country's education and scientific innovation.
Li Xiaomin invited more Israeli technological companies to do business in Wuxi, encouraged enterprises and institutes on both sides to conduct technological cooperation for mutual benefit. The two have carried out close cooperation in economy, trade and agriculture over the years. The total bilateral trade increased by 25.8 percent year-on-year in the first three quarters of this year, mainly based on the fields of electronic equipment manufacturing and communication.
