More than 6,000 runners from home and abroad took part in the first Xishan Wanshan Lake International Marathon on Nov 11 in Wuxi, Jiangsu province.
The event included a 42.195-kilometer full marathon and a 5-kilometer mini-marathon over a course offering spectacular sightseeing and passing Jiaoyang Road, Yingyue Lake central park and Jiuli River wetland park.

After a highly competitive race, Reuben Kemboi from Kenya won the men's full marathon with a time of 2 hours 15 minutes and 47 seconds, while in the women's race, Maureen Jepkoech Kiprono, also from Kenya, won in 2 hours 35 minutes and 12 seconds.
To help participants achieve their personal best, the organizers provided the highest level of organization with abundant supplies, 21 medical stations with ambulances, and a bonus system.
