To attract more high level foreign talents, the public security authorities of Wuxi, Jiangsu province recently introduced a group of policies relating to exit-entry, visa and permanent residence.
Foreigners recognized as high-level foreign talents in Wuxi Hi-tech district and Jiangyin Hi-tech Development Zone as well as their spouses and minor children can directly apply for permanent residence in China.
The new policy shortens the previous three months to 30 days for the public security authorities to issue permits after they receive applications.
Foreigners who meet the requirements of local authorities are eligible to apply for R visa, valid for five years, with multiple entries and repeated stays in China of 180 days.
The time limit shall be cut from seven workdays to three if the applicant has any urgent need.
According to the policy, the residence permit can be issued within five workdays rather than 15.
In addition, the authorities provide visa on arrival for qualified foreigners with application materials at the Sunan Shuofang International Airport, the airport of Wuxi.
