Traditional industries are not the synonyms for declining because they can also be rejuvenated by pursuing green development, representatives from textile industry said.
The textile industry these representatives embark on completely belongs to traditional industry. They said that the biggest target of criticism for the textile industry is eutrophication pollution caused by the dying process.
However, as China pays more attention to environmental issues, these traditional enterprises are forced to improve their producing processes via technological innovation to reduce discharged pollutants and even achieve zero discharge.
Although huge expenses are required to seek cooperation with renowned experts in such aspects, some entrepreneurs are still willing to share their advanced green manufacturing technologies with competitors to contribute to a better environment.
"My company is now engaged in the project of rain and sewage diversion and I suggest other cooperative companies to also take part in the project," one of these representatives said. "It's an efficient way to prevent the Laihu Lake and other inland rivers from being polluted."
They believe that technological innovation is the main measure to achieve green transformation for traditional enterprises and the green principle should be reflected throughout the producing process.
