Xishan district is located in the east of Wuxi and southeast of Jiangsu, with an area of 399 square kilometers and a permanent population of 700,000. It is in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, 128 kilometers from Shanghai and 177 kilometers from Nanjing.
Xishan is a cultural and historical district with picturesque landscapes. It is the birthplace of the ancient Wu county, and is home to ancient riverside towns and well-known folk art forms such as Wu songs and Wuxi Opera.
