A KFC restaurant in Wuxi hosted an arts and craft decoration activity on May 21, where 20 young students gathered to paint Huishan clay figurines.
A Fu and A Xi are iconic characters intertwined with Wuxi's heritage and mythology, according to Gao Huajun, a local craftsman and cultural inheritor.

Gao said that the characters of A Fu and A Xi, a pair of chubby children living in Wuxi during ancient times, overcame a great beast which threatened the lives of fishermen, bringing peace to the area.
The process of making the figurines requires skill and finesse with the final step being painting, which the children carried out with care and creativity.
