Wuxi is to offer subsidies to attract top foreign talents as of May 10, according to the city's human resources bureau.
Expats who have arrived in Wuxi this year and have technical expertise or world-class applied technological skills, engaged in technology R&D, technical innovation or project cooperation on a short-term basis, can apply for the subsidy.
Applicants should meet either of the following requirements:
Applicants should have an overseas master's degree or higher with more than 15 years' experience in scientific R&D or technology application as a professional technical or management staff member.
Applicants may also have a recognized occupational qualification abroad with more than 15 years' experience in enterprises or public service organizations as a professional technical or management staff member.
Foreign experts need also to sign work contracts or project agreements with their employers, and work for at least 30 workdays every year to be eligible for the subsidies.
According to the Wuxi human resources bureau, the application project suits high-end technical personnel who have retired or are nearing retirement.
