The Consul General of Ireland in Shanghai, Therese Healy visited Wuxi on July 14 to hold in-depth talks with Wang Jinjian, the city's deputy mayor, with regards to further cooperation in economy, education, tourism and culture, according to Wuxi Daily.
Wang said that Wuxi has cooperated with Ireland's second largest city Cork for many years in aspects of secondary education, vocational training, and civil servant exchanges. He hoped that the two sides will extend their cooperation in economic, trade, science and technology cooperation as well as environmental protection.
Healy said that Ireland will share its experiences with Wuxi in agriculture, life sciences and biopharmaceuticals, and encouraged people from Wuxi to invest in and visit Ireland.
The Irish consul also met with representatives from the local education and travel sectors during her stay in the city.
