The drizzly weather did not dampen the spirits of the residents of the Xianfeng community recently as they gathered in the local square to watch the first stage of Wuxi city's charity performances tour, on Feb 23.
The Xianfeng community of Shanbei sub-district, Liangxi district enjoyed a variety of traditional Quyi art performances including ballad singing, comedic dialogues, clapper talks and cross talks.
Quyi is a Chinese performance art form consisting of narrative storytelling, predominantly using staged monologues and dialogues.
The city's art group will give more than 80 performances in communities throughout Wuxi in next few months as part of a cultural entertainment program.
