The 2015 Jiangsu Provincial Youth Fencing Championship kicked off at the Xishan Senior High School on August 6. More than 400 athletes from 13 cities attended 36 competitions, reported wxrb.com.
The championship included men's and women's foil, dueling sword, sabre fencing and team sabre.
The event aimed to popularize fencing among the youths and let the youths experience the charm of sports.
During the event, there was an international summer camp and dual meets between athletes and teams from eight prestige universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Harvard University and Columbia University.
