Wuxi International Marathon is the only full marathon held in Jiangsu province.
It was approved by the General Administration of Sport of China and is sponsored by the Chinese Athletics Association, Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau and Wuxi Municipal government.
The event includes men’s and women’s full marathon events (42.195 km), men’s and women’s half marathon events (21.0975 km), and a mini marathon (4.5 km). Every year, the marathon attracts runners both domestically and internationally.
The circular route passes through many local cultural and natural landmarks, including the national 5A scenic spot of Yuantouzhu Garden, a hundred-meter fountain, Jiangnan University, Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center, Wuxi Municipal government, Wuxi Grand Theatre and Taihu Star Amusement Park. It is honored as one of the most beautiful racing routes in the world.
