Cheng Ji Art Museum is located near the main entrance of Lihu Park, to the west of Lihu Road and south of Jincheng West Road.
It has a ground area of 7,300 square meters and a floor area of 2,400 square meters. It opened free to the public on Feb 5, 2008.
The museum is home to collections and exhibitions, and hosts forums and training classes. Around 20 artistic activities are held in the museum every year.
The late Cheng Ji (1912-2005), formerly known as Cheng Jie, was a renowned watercolor painter from Wuxi.
Cheng was selected to be a member of the National Watercolor Society in the US in 1948 and an academician for the China National Academy of Painting in 1962. He donated 500,000 yuan and 84 pieces of his works in 2004 to establish the museum in his hometown.
The opening hours of the museum are between 9:00 – 16:30 and entrance closes at 16:00.
