Hongshan Relic Museum and Wu Culture Museum officially opened to the public in September 2008, covering a total construction area of 10,000 square meters. Hongshan Relic Museum is built upon the original site of a dignitary’s tomb during the Warring States Period (475-221 BC). It has been recognized by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and domestic cultural heritage circle as the largest and best relic site-based museum in southern China. It features scientific and creative exhibition approaches and blends seamlessly with the surrounding natural environment.
The Wu Culture Museum, on the other hand, is the first themed museum in China to study and showcase Wu culture in a comprehensive and systematic manner. It also provides a full range of historical and cultural background to the Hongshan Relic Museum.
