The tragic love story between Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai is one of the four folk legends of ancient China. The legend has been reproduced in story-telling, song poems, opera and in other literature forms. Yixing city is one of the said birthplaces of the story’s legend and since 1921 has restored a tomb for Zhu’s musical Instrument and sword, as well as the Yingtai Pavilion and Zhu’s reading platform. In 2003, the Liang-Zhu Culture Exhibition Hall was set up at the Shanjuan Cave Scenery Site.
