Wuxi recently came out on the fourth place in the list of China's top marathon destinations, according to Wuxi international marathon organizing committee. Beijing topped the list, according to the Jiangnan Evening News.

The list was compiled by the Runner's magazine and based on opinions of many runners and judges. Xiamen and Shanghai came in second and third. The following six were Lanzhou, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou and Hengshui.
Judges raved about the Wuxi international marathon for its thoughtful services, attention to details, adequate security work, professional running and track design, and beautiful landscape sceneries featuring glistening lake and colorful mountains. They said that runners can feel as if they are running in a painting and experience distinctive local customs.
