The Tour of Taihu Lake is an international cycling competition held annually in Binhu district of Wuxi, East China’s Jiangsu province, in October or November since 2000. It is at the 2.1 level of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
The competition of 2014 covered a distance of 1,900 kilometers, and the route in Binhu district was 111.3 kilometers. It started from Wuxi, and went through Changzhou, Nantong of Jiangsu, Huzhou of Zhejiang and Shanghai.
The district also hosted another cycling activity for amateurs. With the aim of promoting low-carbon and green travel, over 1,000 volunteers rode bikes along the route and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake in 2014.
