The city of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, held a founding ceremony for the World Trade Center Wuxi Association (WTCAWX) on Feb 8, marking the opening of a green channel of global trade to local enterprises, the Wuxi Daily reported.
Wuxi's World Trade Center, located in the Taihu Square of Nanchang district, started construction and joined the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) in 2006. It completed construction and opened to public in 2012.
With the establishment of the association, Wuxi becomes a part of the comprehensive trade network consisted of more than 330 cities and 1 million enterprises in the world, said Li Yanran, the newly-elected president of WTCAWX.
The association will house various resources and provide trade information, business services, training for local enterprises and tailored services concerning visa, investment and immigration for individuals and households, Li added.
WTCA, headquartered in New York, US, is a non-governmental organization with over 330 members in the world. Since it was founded in 1970, WTCA has been devoted to promoting world trade and providing trade support to the cities where world trade centers are situated.
