Wuxi (China) Industrial Design Park is the first of its kind that was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in May 2003.
In 2011, there were more than 400 firms engaging in industrial design, creating jobs for more than 10,000 employees. The output value of these firms and some other related industries had exceeded 6 billion yuan ($968.4 million).
Lake Tai Award of China (Wuxi) Industrial Design Competition was officially launched in Wuxi on Nov 26, 2011. It has become an influential event in China.
