The 2nd Farida Starlit Guitar Summer Camp to take place in the town of Zhouzhuang has announced that it is now open for registration.
The summer camp is sponsored by Farida Guitars, which says it is meant to help people learn how to play the guitar for fun and enjoyment.
There will be guitarists at the camp to lecture, including Chen Yanhong, composer of Fusion Style Boy, and Zhu Jie, a winner of the 2015 Play the World music and singing contest.
At the end of the camp, participants can take part in a playing and singing contest judged by experts from France and China's Shanghai, Jiangsu and Taiwan. The first to the third prizes will be a Farida acoustic guitar, a Bullet guitar speaker and a Dineos water-proof guitar bag.
There will also be a writing contest running simultaneously with prizes similar to those of the playing and singing contest. The essays should be about the guitar camp and have a minimum of 1,000 Chinese characters.
Tickets to the camp range from 2,000 yuan to 3200 yuan ($486) and cover scenic spots in the town of Zhouzhuang, an outdoor art show in the town, shuttle bus travel, travel insurance, and a chance to buy a Farida guitar with an 8-percent discount.
Registration runs through July 5, or whenever the 100 spots available are all sold.
