More than 800 firefighters were dispatched to Naji forest in Chen Barag Banner, Hulunbuir League on May 17, with the task of battling fires that have burned about 300 hectares, according to Xinhua.

Strong winds, warm temperatures and dry forest conditions dramatically increase the risk of fires, according to local forest rangers.

Inner Mongolia experienced forest fires during early May causing extensive damage to local woodlands. The ability to prevent fires and manage emergencies has vastly improved.
