Kublai Khan revived in Beijing

A series of performance events based on Kublai Khan and Mongol culture were organized by Inner Mongolia Grassland Culture Protection Foundation in Bejing’s Tongzhou district.

One featured event was the premiere of a new musical titled Dream Dynasty, telling the story of Kublai Khan’s empire, including his pioneering of inland and maritime trade routes and his management of multiple ethnic groups and religions.

Created by Don Frantz, a Broadway producer from the United States, with art troupes from Xilin Gol League, Dream Dynasty will be also be staged in Zhenglan Banner, Xilin Gol League later this year.

A media conference for the release of the historical drama series Kublai Khan, two movies about the reign of Kublai Khan, a forum related to grassland culture and a documentary on the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) were also held as part of the Beijing performance series.
