On Sept 11, ground was broken for what will be the largest soccer training center in North China, at the Xincheng district of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
With a land area of 463 mu (30.87 hectares), the first phase of the construction includes a sports stadium, an eleven-a-side soccer practice gym, and twenty outdoor training courts.
The project has drawn a total investment of 580 million yuan ($86.8 million) from the regional government as well as the local financial bureau.

As a multi-purpose project, the construction is meant to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of Inner Mongolia as well as benefit the public.
It’s expected that the establishment of the soccer center will boost the development of sports in the region as well as related industries.
With the increasing improvement of sports infrastructure, Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia, is to become the front-runner in North China’s sports industry.
The construction project will be accomplished at the end of June 2017.
