The 7th China-Mongolia Media Forum opened in Chinggis, Khentii province, Mongolia on Aug 18, with about 100 officials and journalists from China and Mongolia discussing and initiating methods of accelerating media cooperation and exchanges between the two countries.
Cui Yuying, vice director of the Chinese States Council Information Office, highly praised the results the forum has achieved in the past six years and explained that cooperation among the two countries' media has played a key role.
She also encouraged the two sides to continue telling each other's stories and spreading their respective news to help the two peoples to know each other better.
B. Galaarid, president of the Mongolia Journalist Association, reviewed the cooperative progress achieved by the two countries' media and hoped that this year's session will generate even greater outcomes.
Ulaan, director of the Party Publicity Department of Inner Mongolia, China, said in her speech that she hopes the media of the two countries can report more both on country-level issues, such as China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor construction, and on culture, ecological protection, and ordinary people's lives.
Experts and media representatives from both countries exchanged suggestions on future cooperation.
In August 2014, Chinese President Xi Jinping promised to "invite 250 Mongolian media people to China in the following five years" on his visit to Mongolia, which led to two Mongolian delegations visiting Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and some locations in Inner Mongolia in 2015 and 2016, focusing on China's cultural and green development.
