Inner Mongolia preparing for National Winter Games

The Sports Bureau of the Inner Mongolia region reports that it has begun preparations for the 14th National Winter Games, to be held in 2020, including construction work on the sites and organizing the competition, as of Feb 25.

This will be China's last national winter games before the Beijing Olympic Winter Games in 2022 and the region’s first time to host a sports match of this caliber, giving it an opportunity to show its positive aspects, social development, an civilization to the outside world.

The region says it plans to improve its snow and ice sports layout, and train more talented sports personnel to improve their competitiveness, and to promote ice and snow sports to help transform and expand sports to get more people involved and for winter games market development. It will also get involved in the planning and construction of winter sports venues and facilities with a long-term perspective, for national fitness and regional development.
