Baotou unveils its science and technology museum

The city of Baotou of Inner Mongolia autonomous region opened its science and technology museum on Jan 11, Baotou Daily reported.

The museum aims to help the city in its science and education development strategy and to bring people a greater understanding and appreciation of science and culture.

It covers a 26-acre area, 10 kilometers from the central district, in the new cultural and scientific heartland of the city which contains many scientific and educational institutions and which is now an important science popularization and education base.

The museum has four halls for different areas -- one for a science park for children and the others for exploration and discovery, science and technology, and space and life.

It also has an XD cinema with 4D technology to give visitors a brand new viewing experience. Some of the exhibits are interactive, giving visitors a hands-on experience.
