Inner Mongolia has opened a direct purchase store for ethnic cross-border trade and a cross-border e-commerce site in the city of Hohhot,on Jan 8, which is the largest cross-border store of its kind in the region, in a mall that is a large traditional department store with long history.
The store introduces cross-border e-commerce with a "store plus Internet" model, with all the goods purchased overseas directly through normal channels,and the logistics and distribution handled by customs, inspection and quarantine departments and commodity prices as much as 30 - 50 percent lower than the standard market price.
There are thousands of products handled online and offline cross-border covering maternal and infant supplies, cosmetics, food, health foods, wine, beer and bags from Germany, the United States, Canada, South Korea, Japan and two dozen other countries. Customers can directly purchase goods at the store by paying a tax, or imported goods online. Goods bought directly from the warehouse can be delivered within 7 working days.
