Baotou Science and Technology Children’s Palacereceived a silver award in the middle school category of the VEX Challenge, part of the 2015 Asia-Pacific Robotics Championship.The silver award sets a new record in the competition for a team from the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Having been held there for eight successive years, the 9th championship was held in Melbourne, Australia fromDecember 10 to 12. A total of 580 teams from 10 countries, including China, Australia and Singapore,joined the event.
The championship was composed of four different competitions:VEX Challenge--Nothing But Net, VEX IQ Challenge--Bank Shot, BDS Challenge--Energy Battle and BDS Humanoid Competition.
The internationalevent was held to promote robotics education to young students and developchildren's interests in science, technology, engineering and mathematics by providing an interactive competition platform. The competition also aims to reinforce students' problem solving skills and teamwork spirit by providing hands-on activities and creating an idea-sharing community.
