Inner Mongolia autonomous region has got 703 million yuan ($113.25 million) in special funds for environmental protection from the central finances in 2015.
These special funds will be mainly used to control air, water, and heavy metal pollution, including the comprehensive treatment of Luanhe River basin and the upstream basin of the Yellow River. The funds will be also used to reduce emissions of main pollutants and preserve traditional villages in the region.
330 million yuan are set aside for air pollution, control and 345 million yuan will be spent on water pollution. The remainder will pay for heavy metal pollution control and other environmental protection issues.
