Inner Mongolia, Ningxia reach cooperation framework agreement

A delegation led by Li Jianhua, secretary of Ningxia Hui autonomous region’s Party Committee and Liu Hui, chairman of the region took an official visit to Inner Mongolia autonomous region from July 13 to 15.

On July 13, the delegation met representatives of Inner Mongolia to exchange and discuss the two regions’ social and economic development.

Inner Mongolia and Ningxia are two important ethnic autonomous regions in China. Both regions are included in the Silk Road Economic Belt, which has created more opportunities for their development, said Wang Jun, secretary of Inner Mongolia’s Party Committee, adding that he hopes the regions will strengthen regional communication and cooperation.

Wang’s counterpart from Ningxia, Li Jianhua echoed that the two regions will benefit from regional coordinated development.

A cooperation framework agreement was reached between the two regions at the meeting. According to the agreement, the regions will work jointly to prepare major water projects and transportation projects. The two regions will strengthen cooperation in sectors such as energy chemicals, agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry. They vowed to speed up the construction of trade channels together. Cooperation and coordination on environmental protection was also part of the agreement,

The delegates from Ningxia visited Hohhot and Hunlunbuir in Inner Mongolia, to learn about the two cities’ industrial development, planning, environmental protection and opening-up.
