Inner Mongolia pilots animal products traceability system

Inner Mongolia started to pilot the traceability and supervision system for animal products based on the Internet of Things in the city of Hunlunbuir and Xilingol League, according to the region’s commission of economy and information technology on July 3.

Approved by the region’s government, the traceability and supervision system can trace cattle and sheep through the whole industrial chain. To date, this platform is piloting in the sheep industry and covering traceability information from farming, processing to marketing.

To date, the region’s 1,850,000 sheep were marked with ear tags. Consumers or supervisors can access the information by various methods, including text messages, Internet and two-dimension code.
