On June 10, a noodle restaurant in Dongshen district, Inner Mongolia's Ordos was crowded with people queuing up for a bowl of noodles that they're willing to spend one or two hundred yuan ($32.22).
They actually came to help the restaurant owner's two-year old daughter. The girl's mother posted a message on WeChat appealing for her daughter, who has acute leukemia. Within a short time the message had over 100,000 hits .
The family has spent over 130,000 yuan for the girl's treatment, and about 300,000 yuan more is needed. In the WeChat message, the mother said they are operating a noodle restaurant and hopes more people will go there so they can raise more money for the girl's medical expense.
The message was posted on June 9, and the noodle restaurant was full of guests in the early morning of June 10. This restaurant received over 70,000 yuan from the dinners by 4 pm that day.
