The National Development and Reform Commission published a plan for rail transit construction in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on May 20.

According to the plan, Hohhot's rail transit network will include five lines. There are 123 stations to be set up in the whole span of 155 kilometers, including 14 transfer stations.
A total of 33.88 billion yuan ($5.46 billion) will be invested in rail transit projects, including the first phrases of Line 1 and Line 2 with total length of 51.4 kilometers. Inner Mongolia and Hohhot finances will jointly invest the projects.
It's estimated that the rail transit will account for 15 percent of the city's total public transportation by 2020.
