Container train from Dalian to Europe starts

A block train carrying 50 forty foot equivalent unit containers left Dalian Port for Russia on April 29, marking the official operation of the transit container train that connects Dalian in Liaoning province, Inner Mongolia, Russia and Europe. FEUs are standard containers that can be loaded and sealed onto ships, railway cars, trucks, and planes. The cargo can be delivered directly to destinations as far as about 11,000 kilometers. It saves 20 to 30 days compared to ocean shipping .
