HOHHOT, North China, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- A wrestling championship designed for Chinese and Mongolian wrestlers will kick off on Jan 17 in Xilinhot, a pastoral city of north China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Eight wrestlers from China and Mongolia each will be taking part, with the champion to be awarded 500 grams of gold. Meanwhile, every other wrestler's bonus is a gold coin worth of 5,000 yuan (about 805 U.S. dollars).
Wrestling is one of the Mongolian traditional sports. Before the start of a contest, traditional hymn would be sung to encourage wrestlers.
