HOHHOT, North China, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- China's wrestler Altansuh won the title in a monthly wrestling league competition attending by 16 wrestlers from China and Mongolia on Saturday in Hohhot, capital of north China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
There are nearly 130 wrestlers from China, Mongolia, Russia, the United States, South Africa and other countries or regions competing in the eight monthly competitions and one final contest, in which the winner will bag one million yuan (about 161,726 U.S. dollars) bonus.
After four rounds in this month's competition, China's Altansuh won the champion and China's Sengarbu finished second and they both made it to the finals.
Wrestling is one of the Mongolian traditional sports. Before the start of a contest, traditional hymn would be sung to encourage wrestlers and heighten the atmosphere.
