Inner Mongolia has approved 32 enterprises to operate in 10 foreign countries or regions to date. The total investment of the Chinese presence reaches $484.50 million, according to the commerce department of the autonomous region.
Russia, Mongolia, the US and Hong Kong are the main target countries and regions for the region’s FDI. The region has approved 11 companies to invest in Russia, five to invest in Mongolia, five to invest in the US, four to invest in Hong Kong and two focusing on Canada.
Moreover, a total of four other countries, including South Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan and Egypt, will also welcome investment from Inner Mongolia enterprises.
The main reason for the rapid increase of investment projects are as follows. To begin with, both the nation as well as the autonomous region has launched some favorable policies to encourage outbound investment. As a result, all the Chinese enterprises operating overseas increased their investment.
Second, international capital flow has had a great influence on the outbound investment of the companies. Many companies participated in M&A.
Finally, thanks to trade and investment fairs for enterprises, many agreements have been signed regarding outbound investment projects.
