Inner Mongolia will open its first CRH (China Railway High-speed) by the end of 2014, Xinhua reported on Oct 13. By then it will take only one hour to travel between the following cities: Hohhot, Baotou, Jining and Ordos.

The region’s bullet train, with a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, will be an “updated” version of the inter-city bullet train, which has a speed of 140 kilometers per hour.

According to the Hohhot railway bureau, the operation of the bullet train is significant for improving the strategic development of the local economy, the rapid development of the logistics industry, and the promotion of investment and major projects there.
