"Star of Olympic," the fifth China-Russia-Mongolia International Youth Games, opened on Sept 2 in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. A total of 433 young athletes from China, Mongolia and Russia assembled for the games to compete in 43 events of eight sports, including wrestling, basketball and chess. The closing ceremony of this three-day event will be held on Sept 5.
The three countries hope to cultivate advantageous sports resources and prospective athletes. These youth games are celebrated as an event for the three countries' sports exchange and an event for friendship among the three countries' youth.
It's the second time that Hohhot has served as the event's venue.
