Molimiao Shahu Area

Molimiao Shahu Area is located at the 45 kilometer section southwest of Tongliao City. It's known as the "pearl on the desert."

Molimiao Shahu Area is located at the 45 kilometer section southwest of Tongliao City. With plenty of water, lush pastures and a beautiful landscape, it's known as the "pearl on the desert."

Molimiao Shahu Area is not only noted for the biggest desert reservoir with coastal characteristics in Asia and the longest artificial sand dam in the world, but for attracting tourists with mythology, scenery, and Mongolian traditions. Noteworthy scenic locations include Moli Hall, Baliu Lawn, Bilian Pool, Xiangshui Bridge, Guichi Isle, Nanyang Peninsular, Yanwo Islands, and Moliala. Such rare species as the Protosalanx hyaloc, soft-shelled turtle and river crab are all found here.

Tourists can go sightseeing on a large yacht, motor speedboat or pedalo. The water is very clean in the Beibingyang Bathhouse and at the Huwan Sands, making them good places for swimming and sand baths. In addition, there are such entertainment facilities such as song and dance halls, open dance halls, fishing area and Trade Street.
