The 2019 Annual Meeting of China's Tourism Industry was recently held in Beijing.
Hunan province won 10 awards in nine categories, ranking first in total number of awards among domestic provinces.
Changsha, capital of the province, was selected as one of 2018's 10 most influential Chinese tourism cities, and Nanyue district in Hengyang was listed among the top 10 most influential districts.

The activity was authorized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, supervised by the China Newspaper Association, sponsored by the China Tourism News Agency, and academically supported by the Institute of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Twelve "most influential" lists were released at the annual meeting for Chinese tourism cities, counties and districts, holiday resorts, cultural tourist attractions, theme parks, self-driving tour destinations, socially responsible enterprises and official WeChat accounts.
Changsha seeks to revive porcelain production
In recent years, the local government has sought to revive the region's long tradition in porcelain making and boost local industry with the cultural influence of ancient Tongguan kilns, which have a history of 1,200 years.
