Changsha county is going to launch a weeklong travel route to the Inner Mongolia autonomous region this summer vacation, Changsha Evening News reported.
The new travel route allows tourists departing from Changsha to travel through the cities of Arxan, Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner, and Ulanhot. It will pass through primeval forests and grasslands, and provide tourists with the opportunity to bathe in hot springs, participate in horse races, and enjoy authentic Mongolian food and ethnic dance performances.

The tourism project is aimed at raising locals out of poverty. From June 6 to 13, an investigative group consisting of several travel agencies organized by the Changsha County Tourism Bureau carried out a study in a dozen scenic spots in Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner.
The group agreed that the city in North China has an abundance of tourism resources, ranging from grasslands and forests to architecture, and is very appealing to tourists from South China, offering them an experience unique to North China.
According to the tourism bureau, the proposed tourism route will attract a large number of visitors hoping to experience unique Mongolian folk customs to Horqin during the summer, and will also promote local tourism.
