Changsha maglev, the first home-developed low speed maglev line in China, is scheduled to extend its service time and shorten its running interval, starting Aug 6.
According to the operator, Hunan Maglev Transport Co, from that day daily service hours will run from 7 am to 9 pm, an extension of the current closing time of 8 pm. The running interval will be cut from the current 24 and a half minutes to 15 and a half minutes.
The Maglev shuttle commenced operation on May 6. It stretches 18.5 kilometers and links Changsha South Railway Station in the west to Huanghua Airport in the east, with one stop, Langli Maglev Station, in between.
A one-way ticket is 20 yuan ($3) for the whole journey or 10 yuan for those who board or get off the train at Langli.
