Changsha county gears up for major expressway project

Five towns in Changsha county will be connected by a major road project launched by the city of Changsha in 2015.
The Changsha northern east-west expressway project passes 31 townships of Liuyang city, Changsha county, Kaifu district, Wangcheng district and Ningxiang county. And the total length of the line will be more than 273 km. Changsha county government held a scheduling meeting on May 4 in order to ensure the progress of the Changsha county section, which lasts around 34 km.

Scheduled to be fully completed by 2020, the route is expected to boost local rural tourism and bring more development opportunities for areas along the line. Another horizontal line in the south part of the city is under construction at the same time.

According to Li Xuejun, deputy chief engineer of Changsha transportation bureau, the building of east-west channels crossing the city has been made an urgent call by multiple factors including the new-type urbanization, the relocation of large markets from downtown to suburb areas and the layout of industrial parks.
Changsha seeks to revive porcelain production
In recent years, the local government has sought to revive the region's long tradition in porcelain making and boost local industry with the cultural influence of ancient Tongguan kilns, which have a history of 1,200 years.
