Total industrial output value in CETZ reaches 160 b yuan

According to an annual economic conference recently held by the Changsha National Economic and Technical Development Zone (CETZ), the total industrial output value of the zone has amounted to 160 billion yuan ($25.73 billion) in 2014. The CETZ also made a total industrial fixed asset investment of 11 billion yuan, csxrmt.com reported.

Yang Yiwen, the head of both Changsha county party committee and the CETZ party working committee, and Li Keming, the management committee director of the zone, attended the conference.

Eight departments (units) such as investment, construction, and human resources presented their annual reports for the year 2014 at the conference.

The total output value of automobile manufacturing industry exceeded 30 billion yuan in 2014, making up 20 percent of the total industrial output value, 10 percentage points higher over the year 2013.

In addition, the zone signed 14 project-introduction contracts from Jan to Nov, of which 10 projects were scheduled with an investment value of over 100 million yuan.

The zone put aside 745 million yuan for infrastructure constructions in 2014, including a ground leveling area of 3,366 mu (224.4 hectares) and a new greening area of 435,000 square meters.

The conference has set out major targets for 2015: it will aim a total industrial output value of 177.6 billion yuan, representing an increase of 11 percent over the year 2014; the industrial fixed asset investment is expected to reach 12.1 billion yuan, an increase of 10 percent over the previous year; the industrial and commercial tax collection will amount to 10.6 billion yuan, increasing 10.4 percent over the previous year.

Yang said that the fiscal revenue of Changsha county in Hunan province exceeded 20 billion yuan in 2014, and this number is expected to exceed 30 billion yuan within the next two years. He said that the CETZ could make more contributions to growth. He also suggested the zone bring in more low-carbon and high-tech industries.

Li said that 2015 is an important year for the adjustment of economic development and that the CETZ would undertake more supporting policies in boosting development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, including factory lease, personnel policy, credit financing and patent protection for innovations, and encourage and guide more enterprises to explore overseas market.
