Hunan embroidery city

This is China’s largest embroidery center and the first national intangible cultural heritage protection base of its kind. It holds the Xingsha, Jinxia and Changsha embroidery cities on 20 hectares of ground with 400,000-square-meters of that for building, and brings together embroidery, apparel, home textiles, ceramics, silver accessories, art, performances, tourism exhibits, shopping, leisure and entertainment.
It was designated a major project in Changsha in 2004, and one of eight leading industries, in 2005, qualifying for local government support for culture, 2006 to 2010. The city had a mature culture industry by 2007 and was home to eight culture companies, as well as 45 other production companies. In July 2007, the city received a Hunan culture model award and, in 2009, the city had a GDP of 1 billion yuan.

Changsha seeks to revive porcelain production
In recent years, the local government has sought to revive the region's long tradition in porcelain making and boost local industry with the cultural influence of ancient Tongguan kilns, which have a history of 1,200 years.
