Overview

This park is in Ganshan, Changsha county, on 73.6 square kilometers of land and has eight villages and 24,000 people. It had total industrial output of 1.05 billion yuan ($168.1 million), in 2008. Ganshan made 6.8 million yuan that same year, with per capita earnings of 5,530 yuan.

Ganshan established a Machinery Accessories Industrial Zone in 2006 on an 8.24 - sq - km space in a favorable location, with an expressway to Huanghua International Airport, 8-km-away, and Qiujiang Highway, which connects it to the Xingsha Economic and Technological Development Zone and the capital city, Changsha. There is also Huangjiang Highway to the south, which is a 10-minute drive to Xiangzhang Rd in Changsha city.

The zone’s infrastructure supplies up to 8,000 tons of water a day, and there is a 111,000-kv power station built in May 2008 to meet the park and township electricity needs, a residential section that cost more than 7-million-yuan, and a 6-million-yuan drainage project. Another park improvement is Hunan Communications Polytechnic, which covers 413,300 square meters.

The park now has 18 enterprises, 11 of them large auto accessories and parts companies, including the Shaanxi Automobile Group, FAW, Foton Motor, Sunward Equipment, and Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology, in an industrial cluster. In August 2007, Shaanxi Automobile established the Changsha Huantong Auto Manufacturing Co in the park at a cost of 1 billion yuan, to produce heavy trucks, greatly increasing the zone's influence in both Changsha and the province and supporting Changsha’s car industry.

Projects

1. Changsha Huantong Auto Manufacturing, on 466,700 square meters of ground, began production in August 2009, and work on a second phase began the same year.

2. Hunan Communication Polytechnic, which cost 580 million yuan, opened its offices and teaching buildings in September 2009 and enrolled its first students.
